When you manage yourself, you experience less stress.

Manage Your Self, Manage Your Stress Stress Management is really about self-management and the choices that you make. If you are feeling stressed-out, that is a good indicator that it is time to make changes in your life. Many times we wait too long to make these changes, and often it is too late, especially in relation to our mental or physical health. Our most essential tools in life are our mind and body. The state of our minds and the condition of our bodies influence every part of our lives. Working when you are not physically and mentally fit gets in the way of doing your job to the best of your ability. If you want to live a life of love, peace, and contentment, you have to consciously choose to create it. A high-quality life has the benefits of feeling connected to self, others, and Spirit. Your life has meaning and significance, and you are aware of what your life vision and purpose is. You strive to balance your life by living with vision, working with purpose, loving with passion, and learning. How can you get to the business of self-transformation when your mind, body, and spirit are over-stimulated? You have to stop and take time to think. You have to allow your spirit to communicate with you. Take a moment to check in with spirit. Instead of starting down the road of stress, stop, think, and relax. Then go down the path of inner peace. Asking the heart is a great way to reconnect with your higher self. Remember clarity and calmness in the midst of chaos and confusion; carry a physical reminder, a crystal, rock, or inspirational quote---anything to ground you.

Stress management is a lifelong program of whole-life fitness. You must commit to an ongoing assessment process that you monitor, so you can make changes when necessary. When you successfully manage yourself, and develop healthy behaviors, you are a better lover, worker, and friend. Having good self-management skills will enhance your relationships with others and increase your chances for living a fuller, happier, healthier, and balanced life. As with many things in life, prevention is the best medicine. Take the time to learn about your personal health risks, family history, current health, and make healthy life choices (eating, exercise, smoking, drinking). Ultimately, the choices you make in life affect how you feel and how you function.

Get Smart! Ø Stress management comes down to self-management. It is about selecting appropriate options as well as making smart life decisions.
